Southern Cross, New Zealand’s largest health insurer, has released its 2018 Annual Report and has published the most common claims by amount paid. The results may surprise you!

Southern Cross paid out 92 cents in claims for every dollar that it received in premiums between 1 July 2017 and 30 June 2018. The most claimed procedure for 2018 was knee replacement. It reported that claims for specialist consultations went up during the year by 15.3% and claims for prescriptions went up by 7.4%.
