Our clients in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, showed a warm welcome to mental health advocate, I AM HOPE founder and New Zealander of the Year, Mike King ONZM.
In June, we were pleased to invite a selection of our clients to a stimulating lunchtime event that put the spotlight on mental health and the emotional and financial cost of mental illness. Many New Zealanders will experience mental illness during their lives. It impacts those who suffer from it, their families, and the community.
Mike talked us through his personal mental health journey and why advocacy and education has to start with our kids. We also had a fantastic talk chock full of economic and political insights with respected business journalist Pattrick Smellie.
AdviceFirst and POD believe in helping people realise a better future, not only financially but also with a focus on personal health and wellbeing.
Great to see our larger companies in NZ taking into account the well-being of their staff and clients, as well as the well-being of their kids. Thanks AdviceFirst.
I AM HOPE is the youth and community focused support group run by The Key to Life Charitable Trust, started by Mike King. For the last three years Key To Life have been promoting positive attitudinal societal change in schools and communities up and down the country, and funding private care and counselling for young people stuck-in-the-mud on waiting lists.
They know kids want to take agency of their own mental health development AND their communities’. They give kids permission to do just that, and contribute directly to social change as a result.
I AM HOPE speaks and communicate directly to and with kids.
